چکیده

The use of date palm fiber (DPF) as natural in concrete and mortar continues to gain acceptability due its low-cost availability. However, the main disadvantage DPF cement-based composites is that it reduces compressive strength increases porosity composite. Hence, for be efficiently used concrete, negative effects must counteracted. Therefore, this study, silica fume was employed supplementary cementitious material alleviate on concrete. added different dosages 0%, 1%, 2%, 3% by weight binder materials. Silica a cement replacement at 0% 15% (intervals 5%) volume cement. unit weights, mechanical strengths, water absorption, microstructural morphology were all evaluated. concrete’s fresh hardened densities reduced with increment fume. declined ages addition, while flexural splitting tensile strengths improved addition up 2% DPF. Furthermore, absorption escalated an increase content. significantly enhanced dissipation mitigated replacing 10% fume, where densified microstructure refined interfacial transition zone between fibers matrix, hence decreasing enhancing durability.

Performance of date palm fibres reinforced plaster concrete

This paper describes an investigation on the use of a new composite construction material composed of plaster, sand, crushed gravel and date palm fibres of waste agriculture peels, having mechanical properties potentially useful in technical domains. Thermal conductivity and some mechanical and physical properties are investigated. The results showed that the incorporated vegetable fibres chang...

Flexural Fatigue Strength of Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete Containing Blends of Limestone Powder and Silica Fume

Based upon the statistical distribution of flexural fatigue life data and flexural fatigue strength of the steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) containing blends of limestone powder (LP) and silica fume (SF), the influence of these inserts on the flexural fatigue performance of concretes is probed. Concrete mixes were proportioned to replace 30% cement with these mineral inserts in different ...

Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete Containing Pumice and Metakaolin

Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) has been widely used due to its advantages over plain concrete such as high energy absorption, post cracking behaviour, flexural and impact strength and arresting shrinkage cracks. But there is a weak zone between fibers and paste in fiber reinforced concretes and this weak zone is full of porosity, especially in hybrid fiber reinforced concretes. So it is necess...
